Step1: Determine how much oil your engine is using every 3000-5000 miles.

Don't know: Assume 1 quart usage per oil change. If you are down a quart after 2000 miles with one quart of oil stabilizer installed, add another quart of oil stabilizer. Do not overfill your engine oil past the full mark on the dipstick. If you are down 1/2 a quart only add 1/2 quart.

1 quart or less: Replace 1 quart of oil with one quart of Lucas Oil stabilizer at your oil change

1 to 2 quarts: Replace 2 quarts of oil with two quarts of Lucas Oil stabilizer at your oil change

Lucas Oil stabilizer usage can range from 20% to 80% of the the total oil capacity of the engine (including the oil capacity of the filter).

20% - new to slightly worn engines (using 1 qt or less per oil change)
40% - moderate wear (using 2 quarts per oil change)
60% - 80% - extremely worn engines that are putting out clouds of smoke from the exhaust

Step 2: Determine the Lucas Oil Stabilizer percentage of total system capacity.

Step 4: Change your oil, being careful to install the correct amount of stabilizer and engine oil. Do not overfill. Your mechanic will do this for you if you do not change your own oil. The 4-pack below will last from 2 to 4 oil changes, depending on your engine condition, in most cases.
